Genealogy

The Genealogy and Local History section of the Warren Public Library holds birth and death records for Huntington County, funeral home records, and cemetery records.  There are also original volumes by local historians and family records that have been donated to the library.  We also have all of the Warren newspapers on microfilm dating back to 1879 and a handwritten obituary record.  Our vertical file holds newspaper clippings on many of the local businesses, churches, schools and events.  The library also has an extensive collection of yearbooks from the Warren area schools, as well as local phone books dating to 1940.  If you are working on your ancestry, researching the history of Warren, or would just like to spend a quiet afternoon dwelling in the past, the staff would welcome you in the Genealogy and Local History section.
